FOCUS THEME
A Semantic Web for Bioinformatics: Goals, Tools, Systems, Applications

NETTAB 2007 is not limited to the main focus theme, but it also includes general sessions on as specified below.

A BioSapiens workshop : From Genome to Proteome and Biological Function

Location:
Bruxelles, Belgium

Europe/Brussels

Advanced Protein Domain Analysis Training Workshop

Location:
Lyon, France
18 May 2008 - 3:00pm
20 May 2008 - 3:00pm
Etc/GMT
Protein domain analysis is an essential component of protein sequence interpretation and genome annotation. This non-specialist training workshop will provide a thorough introduction to the concepts underlying protein domain analysis and modular protein evolution, together with extensive hands-on sessions on protein domain analysis tools, web services and work flows.

Applied Gene Ontology

Location:
Bari, Italy
7 Nov 2007 - 12:00am
9 Nov 2007 - 1:00pm
Etc/GMT

Gene Ontology (GO) is a well defined and structured vocabulary to describe gene products of all kind of organisms on three levels: the function of the gene product, the biological process the gene product is involved in, and its localization. In the last years the knowledge of GO increased drastically together with its use to analyse bioinformatic data. Nowadays there exist a large numbers of tools exploiting the GO knowledge to gain more information from bioinformatic and biological data able to provide a “biological picture” of the data set.
