We are pleased to invite you to the International EMBnet-RIBio Conference 2009, jointly organized by the European Molecular Biology network (EMBnet) and the Red Iberoamericana de Bioinformática (RIBio) at the Paradisus Riviera Cancun Resort, located at the Mayan Riviera, Quintana Roo, Mexico, from the 26th to the 29th of October, 2009.

This will be the first time the EMBnet's Annual General Meeting will take place outside of Europe, bringing together bioinformatitians from all over the world, along with the Iberoamerican Annual General Meeting. The establishment of the Iberoamerican Bioinformatics Society will take place on the first day of the meeting.

Important Dates

• August 4th, 2009. Opening of early bird registration & hotel booking.
• September 8th, 2009.
• September 22th, 2009. Authors notification.
• September 30th, 2009. Early bird registration & hotel booking deadline.
• October 10th, 2009. Late author's registration deadline. (Notified authors should register on or before this date to be considered on the conference program.)
• October 15th, 2009. Final Program.

Call for Papers

The Organizing and Scientific Committees invite authors to submit abstracts for the EMBnet Conference, following the instructions clearly indicated in the "Abstract submission Guidelines" page.

The conference is open to submissions in all areas of bioinformatics (such as genomics, proteomics, trancriptomics, metagenomics, data and text-mining, ontologies, education and e-learning tools available in Bioinformatics, among others), although the main topics for this conference will be:

• High Throughput Technologies
• The Interface of Bioinformatics and Systems Biology
• Open Software for Bioinformatics

The language of the conference is ENGLISH.
