Programmatic access of Proteomics Resources

This course consists of a mix of lectures and practical experience in accessing proteomics resources. An overview of each of the databases will introduce participants to the types of data, the way the data are stored and the connection between databases. Subsequently database-specific lectures will address the programmatic accessibility of the data and data integration between resources. This new knowledge will then be applied in hands-on tutorials.

• Refreshing Web Services in Java
• Programmatic access of the following resources:
  • Protein sequences: UniProt, UniParc, UniRef and UniMess
  • Pathway database: Reactome
  • PRoteomics IDEntifications: Pride
  • Protein families, domains and functional sites: InterPro
  • Molecular interaction database: IntAct
  • Protein Identifier: PICR
• Integrating data across: BioMart and EnCORE (Enfin)
