CDFD is an autonomous institution supported by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and is engaged in providing services and carrying out research in DNA fingerprinting, Diagnostics and Bioinformatics. CDFD is also the European Molecular Biology Network (EMBnet) India Node (EIN) for bioinformatics. It provides services in the form of browsing biomolecular sequence databanks, macromolecular structure databanks, genome and other useful databases. It provides in-house services for the comparison and analysis of sequence/structure data and modelling.
