Martina Franca, a little town in the heart of the Puglia region (Italy)
The congress will be hosted in Martina Franca, a smart town settled 431 meters above sea level, lying over one of the last southern hills of the Murgia area. It overlooks the charming Valle d’Itria, a beautiful region with trees and white houses called “trulli”.
The main attraction is the old town centre, a typical example of baroque art, with elegant mansions and monumental churches.
Besides a fascinating landscape, marked by the famous “trulli” and the typical local farms called “masserie”, Martina Franca is sourrounded by a territory rich in suggestive caves.
From its position, the town offers to its visitors a striking view over the Ionic and the Adriatic sea. The town also offers a chance to give a glance towards lovely woods and green landscapes in the south, which represent a little oasis of peace and tranquillity.
Martina Franca is a very popular site, not only for its rich architectural, historical and artistic heritage, but also for its cultural activities that reach the best expression in the famous “Valle d’Itria Festival” which will take place during the summer period.
The Park Hotel San Michele
The congress venue is the Park Hotel San Michele. It is located in the city centre and includes an ancient farm called “Masseria Chiancone” which was the residence of a family whose prevailing activity was the commerce of the ice in 1893.
In the 1950’s, the Masseria was restored in a luxurious villa on the example of the ancient Roman residences. Today it represents the historical wing of the hotel.
The new congress centre of the hotel, completed in 2004, offers great flexibility and efficiency for the management of every meeting. It is provided with the newest technologies and has Wi-Fi access for internet.
The hotel has 5 restaurants: “America” and “Italia” which are ideal for banquets and receptions; “Antico”, the ideal setting for winter evenings; “Il Portico” and “Il Parco” for open-air happenings during the Spring/Summer season.
The rooms are equipped with every comfort and a multilingual reception is at disposal of all guests. Furthermore, an elegant external portico and a wonderful secular park to relax.
Accomodation
Due to the limited availability at Park Hotel San Michele, rooms have been also booked in another property which is at walking distance from the Park Hotel San Michele: Hotel Villa Rosa, a three stars hotel about 560 meters from the Park Hotel.
The Hotel Villa Rosa springs up in a peaceful and strategic position of Martina Franca offering clients numerous advantages. Who chooses to stay in this Hotel has the benefit of enjoying the possibility of spending a pleasant holiday in the Apuglian heartland, but still closely situated to the coast.
The Hotel provides many services and facilities and will also provide a shuttle service for the Hotel San Michele.
