ETI, the Expert Center for Taxonomic Identification, is a not for profit foundation, dedicated to improve on a global scale the quantity, quality and accessibility of taxonomic information, based on an initiative of UNESCO.
Within the first phase of the Taxonlink project, realized in 1999, the local servers of CMBI and ETI were linked, focussing on integrating sequence and taxonomic databases.
ETI's biodiversity information systems on CD-ROM are professional tools for scientists and students working an any field of the biological diversity studies and may be used for both for taxonomic and ecological applications.
