- The conference hosted permanent demos on:

  • the LIBI Grid Platform: an Italian project for the development of a Grid Bioinformatics Infrastructure. Demos shown available services and Grid enabling bioinformatics applications.

  • the EGEE Platform to integrate bioinformatics services on the grid: the demonstration aimed at showing how the platform works by submission of simple jobs through a web portal which automizes the submission, the monitoring of jobs and the retrieval of results and shown how the platform mechanisms can handle large-scale deployments or punctual submissions of short tasks. Moreover some examples of bioinformatics workflows execution on the platform through hi-level workflow management tools like Taverna have been shown.
