EMBnet is a group of collaborating organisations (Nodes) and individuals across the world. It is organised as a foundation called 'The EMBnet Stichting', registered in The Netherlands. The Annual General Meeting (AGM), in which each Node representative has an equal vote, is the main decision-making body of EMBnet.
EMBnet is managed by a five-member Executive Board (EB) elected by the Full Board. The EB effects the decisions of the AGM, deals with funding, and generally takes care of the day-to-day running of the organisation between AGMs.
EMBnet's EB is advised by an Operational Board (OB), which comprises the full EB plus the Chairs of the Project Committees.
The activities of EMBnet are run by several Project Committees (PCs), whose Chairs are elected by the full Board:
EMBnet.journal is managed by an eight-member Executive Editorial Board.
The EMBnet Stichting is funded by membership fees, sponsorships and grants, as and when appropriate calls are available.
